Yedida Kanfer teaches about the Jewish past in order to enlighten the Jewish present. In exploring Jewish history and the Holocaust with teens, undergraduates, and adults, Yedida encourages critical thinking about the world today: what are our responsibilities to each other, and to our larger society? Yedida manages the Tauber Holocaust Library and Archives, and she loves to use primary sources in her teaching. She received her Ph.D. from Yale University in Russian, East European, and Jewish history, and has contracted with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. When she is not teaching, Yedida loves activist work, singing Jewish/Yiddish music, and bird watching.
