The Hebrew program at HaMaqom gives learners the opportunity to explore the linguistic and cultural roots of the Hebrew language while at the same time gaining direct access to Jewish texts and sources in their original Hebrew.
Learn Hebrew from scratch! This course is designed for the complete beginner and is the foundation for all future Hebrew language learning. We will learn the alphabet both in script and in printed forms including the vowel signs. We will develop basic conversational skills and begin to acquire an elementary Hebrew vocabulary. Each lesson will include developing Hebrew reading, writing and speaking skills.

This course is designed for beginners who have completed one semester of Level A1 (or equivalent). We will continue to develop and reinforce our Hebrew reading, writing, and speaking skills. Throughout the course, students will improve fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. During class, we will foster a supportive community of Hebrew learners!

This course will focus on the development of Hebrew conversational skills and vocabulary enrichment. Emphasis will be placed on using accurate Hebrew sentence structure and pronunciation. In grammar, we will use verbs in the present tense as well as the infinitive form.

This course will focus on enriching student vocabulary and strengthening our ability to speak. Students will begin to learn the future tense and class time will include celebrations of Jewish holidays, learning songs and sharing good news (All in Hebrew!).

This course will provide a deep dive into the future tense (binyanim). Students will strengthen vocabulary, reading, and conversational skills. We will also practice our reading using articles from various newspapers in easy Hebrew. Class time will include celebrating Jewish holidays, learning songs, and sharing good news (All in Hebrew!). In this course, students will develop their conversational skills by bringing current events and good news to discuss in class.
We will review the future tense and all the prepositions. Students will be encouraged to speak in Hebrew during class and beyond.

This course is taught in Hebrew and is aimed at experienced Hebrew learners. Students will bring current events or good news to discuss in class. We will read articles that will help us practice conjugation and enrich our vocabulary. Students will learn poems, sing songs, read stories, and have discussions in Hebrew.

Master various Prepositions מילות יחס and their use with the appropriate verbs
In this course, we will review the conjugation of various prepositions, match them with the appropriate corresponding verb, and practice them in sentences, dialogues and a variety of exercises.
We will continue to expand our vocabularies through class discussions, reading for accuracy and fluency, and develop correct pronunciation.
