Yemima Method: The Art of Effortless Change – Fall 2021
Elul is a time of introspection, the high holidays arrive to remind us that one year has passed and another is about to begin. They ask us – what has changed? This question can be intimidating since we often experience change as a transformation from bad to good, and that perception suggests we were bad until now. Yemima suggests the opposite, the inner work is not to change but to connect. The key is to recognize what the soul is communicating to me and connect with it instead of trying to make things right. In this series, we’ll prepare for the new year by learning how to stop wasting energy and start connecting with the power of renewal. In the 1980s, Yemima Avital, a contemporary Moroccan Israeli healer, and a female Hasidic Rebbe, developed a method for emotional and spiritual growth, which is rooted deep in Jewish Kabbalistic traditions. This practice is done through journaling and conversation in a group. The method is taught in English and there is no need for prior knowledge. “In fact, it is an awakening to an understanding to renewal. Act to your ability and make many errors. You are allowed to make mistakes and as many as you want. Here she makes a mistake, here she repairs. The power of repair is greater than the power of the error. “ (Yemima)
