Introduction to Zohar — Fall 2019

If you are curious about The Zohar and would like an accessible and understandable, open and conversational setting, this downtown lunchtime class is for you. We will read and discuss selections from The Zohar: Pritzker Edition, recommended by its translator and commentator, Professor Daniel C. Matt. He describes the Zohar as “a challenge to the normal workings of consciousness [that] dares one to examine one’s assumptions about tradition, God, and self.” Daniel Matt and Peretz Wolf-Prusan will speak at “A Special Morning with the Talmud and the Zohar” introductory session, Sunday August 25, 10:00am, at the Jewish Community Library in San Francisco. This program is free, however, please register in advance so that we can plan accordingly. To register and for answers to questions, contact Tamar Zaken at tamar@lehrhaus.org or (510) 845-6420.
