Deepening Your Rest and Renewal (Winter 2021)
Judaism provides a strong template for stepping away from the chaos, overwhelm, and confusion that can seep into our lives. Many of us aren’t quite ready for a traditional Shabbat, but we could really use ways of stopping the tumult of our everyday activities to get genuine downtime, connect with others, and experience the source of our life energy. In this class, we will learn more about what it takes to create a true oasis in time. Drawing on the deep wisdom of traditional Shabbat teachings, the wealth of current knowledge about personal change, and time management practices, participants will take their next steps towards starting or deepening their Shabbat/Sabbath practice.
In this three-section course we will explore and answer some pressing questions: How do we put away our to-do list? Set aside our technology? Deeply reconnect with self, others, and Source? How do we do this with others? How do we experiment and learn what enables us to experience the genuine renewal of regular stop time every week? Join us as the secular new year begins for learning and exploration together!
