A Kevah Small Group (KSG) is a micro-community with a shared affinity principle (usually based on geographic location, shared interest, demography, or life stage) that gathers once or twice a month to study Jewish texts in a friendly setting like a home, office, JCC, or synagogue. Our DIY model means each group can design a series that fits their schedule. After a host creates a group and chooses a topic and location — often in consultation with our staff, HAMAQOM | The Place matches that group with an outstanding educator who creates a tailored curriculum. We also provide each group with a Kevah Small Group email address, which serves as a virtual home where members can message one another between sessions, receive reminders, and arrange other details.
Kevah means a “set practice,” and for 10 years Kevah operated as an independent 501(c)3 organization, aiding individuals and organizations to make time in their lives to build Jewish learning communities. HAMAQOM | The Place acquired Kevah in 2018.
